The session is shaped with a clear eye for clothes, location, light, movement, and the amount of direction that feels comfortable to you. It is not about copying a scene or turning the island into a backdrop, but about photographs in which you recognise yourselves, just composed a little more clearly than everyday life.
Who is an editorial session for?
The session suits couples who want portraits made with time and a clear visual intent. Some plan it for the day before or after the wedding, so the wedding day itself belongs to the guests. Others celebrate an engagement or an anniversary, or combine the session with a holiday in Mallorca. Couples who feel unsure in front of the camera also benefit from the clear structure.

How much direction do you get during a couple shoot?
More than in documentary coverage, but less than in a fashion shoot. Niklas gives simple, clear cues on position, direction and movement, so the light and composition work. Then he leaves room for what happens between you: a laugh, a glance, a gesture nobody planned.

When and where does the session take place?
Light decides a great deal. Early morning and late afternoon bring soft, side-lit conditions that flatter both skin and landscape. Good settings include stone lanes in old villages, cliffs and coves, olive groves, fincas, or a quiet street in Palma. We choose a place that suits your clothes, the mood and the two of you, and check access and routes in advance.

The photographs are selected and edited as a connected set, with attention to the relationship between portraits, landscape, and smaller details.

Is this only for couples getting married?
No. The session is designed for couples, including those celebrating an engagement, an anniversary, a stay in Mallorca, or a moment around their wedding. What matters is the wish for deliberately composed portraits. Whether you are newly engaged or have been married for a long time makes no difference to the planning.
Can the session be part of a wedding weekend?
Yes. A session can be planned as its own chapter before or after the wedding day when the wider schedule allows for it. Many couples find this a relief, because the wedding day can then belong to the guests. The photographs are often especially calm, since nobody is waiting for you.
Will we be told what to do?
You receive clear but unobtrusive direction. The photographs should take shape while your expressions and movements remain recognisably your own. Niklas briefly explains what matters, shows a direction when needed, and then gives you time. Nobody needs any previous experience in front of the camera for this to work well.
What should we wear?
We talk about clothing in relation to the location, the season and the visual mood you like. Calm colours and fabrics that move in the wind usually feel timeless. Beyond the overall look, practical comfort matters a lot, especially when walking over stones, sand or uneven coastal paths during the session.
How much does a couple shoot in Mallorca cost?
There are no fixed packages. Instead, you receive an individual proposal based on format, scope and location. It reflects the length of the session, the number of locations, the routes between them, and travel. Tell me when you will be on the island and what mood you have in mind, and the proposal will fit your idea.
How long does an editorial session take?
Usually a few hours, depending on the number of locations, the distances between them and the light. A focused session in one place is shorter than one with a change of clothes and two stops. We set the exact frame together, so nothing feels rushed and there is enough time for the right light.
What do we receive after the session?
After the session, Niklas selects the strongest photographs and edits them as a connected series in calm, natural colours. The full gallery follows within one month at the latest in a private online gallery, where you can download the images for a year. Black-and-white versions and small corrections are free on request.
